Below are the boys. Something kept me from featuring them earlier even though I usually take their first photos around a week old. Today, May 28th, 2020, I found out why. I lost our teeny tiny boy. He was the first born. I’m not sure why he was so tiny, but he seemed to thrive from day one. I weighed him every day to be sure he was gaining. He was a strong nurser and didn’t have much competition only having two bigger brothers.
Within the first couple of days, Mina apparently picked him up, something moms do when moving puppies around, and I found a small punture wound on his side. After treatment, it seemed to heal normally, but I had decided to make sure I scheduled him with my vet for a good look over when he was old enough. I’m not sure what happened? It is possible Mina laid on him, but it seemed unlikely after almost two weeks with her three pups. I only know my heart broke when I picked him up today, as I was going to take his photo first. RIP little Tiny Tim.
Meanwhile, his brothers below are thriving and getting huge.
